We are a small sole-proprietorship company seeking an experienced business analyst/researcher to conduct work on financial and commodity markets in South America. Our IT/operations company consults to a few select clients, and seeks to expand its expertise in developing Latin American countries. The objective is to explore the viability of a South American arm to the consultancy, which would translate lessons learned in India and Asia more generally, and make them available to South American clients.
Developing a deep understanding of key industries and their members
Building an understanding of both financial and commodity markets across South America
The development of reports and presentations on a variety of financial and non-financial issues
Presentation of key ideas to executives as part of the marketing process
The development of extant developing country business models for the South American environment
Business and Operational Analysis of Companies
Lead identification and follow-up
Client Management and Communication
Must have Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Business Administration or Management
Sound operations and corporate IT knowledge
The demonstrated ability to work on, and complete projects in a timely manner
At least 5 years experience in either financial and/or commodity markets in South America
Very strong persuasive skills. Must be comfortable and credible with people from a wide-range of backgrounds.
Needs to display outstanding cultural sensitivity for the various regions (some potentially outside South America).
Strong work ethic, and ability to solve problems without assistance
Good presentation and expressive skills
Proficiency in multiple computer systems (Windows/Linux) as well as mastery of spreadsheet software, database analysis systems, and the ability to learn idiosyncratic computer systems quickly
A knowledge of agricultural markets would be beneficial but not a necessity
Ability to understand the confidentiality concerns of the clients, and to work within both the spirit and the letter of Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs).
The interview will include pre-specified questions to ascertain the knowledge-base of the applicant
